Day 3 - Rainy day in St John

On the third day of our vacation we planned on touring around the St John area a bit, perhaps visiting St Stephen, St George and St Andrews. These places promised beautiful gardens, old buildings and historic walking tours. But, dear, dear Mother Nature made other plans for us. Sigh!

On the day we arrived in St John this was the view from one of our bedroom windows at the B&B.
The next day this is the view that greeted me first thing in the morning.
Foggy foggy weather and heavy rain. Groan. We wouldn't be touring gardens or going on historic walking tours that day.
The clouds rolled in and the clouds rolled out and we stayed pretty close to home.
We did venture out with cameras in hand to the Irving Nature Park...
but the wind coming in off the water was cold, and soon after we got out of the car the rain started again so we beat it back to the car...
... took a few more pictures then headed to Tim's for coffee.
The skies cleared a bit near the end of the day so we toodled around the area near the B&B, found this interesting sculpture park...
...right across the road from the Reversing Falls. We stopped by for a gander of the falls at low tide...
...and high tide.
Then we headed back to the B&B. I sauntered around the gardens there, AC took a few pics...
...then we retreated to our room for an early night. This was a familiar sight. AC checking mail, or posting a blog or two while sipping a Tim's coffee.
It was a quiet, rainy, foggy, kind of day which made it a relaxing one. On the morrow we had reservations for the ferry to Nova Scotia ( a three hour trip) , then a fair drive to Yarmouth after that, so we hit the hay early to prepare for the busy day ahead. ZZZZZZZ, see you in the morning.

Bernie - I am really disappointed we didn't get there. It was at the top of our list of places to see during our stop-over day in the St John area. It sounded like a beautiful place in the tourist information brochure. We'll have to get there next time!
