Last day of school

We arrived early on Thursday morning, and Smudge was all set for her last day of school.

JJ is enjoying the action too.  He kept saying "I'm so excited"

...before heading into the school yard.

JJ was upset that he couldn't go on the bus or into the school, so we took him on an adventure to the local farm store to see some baby chicks and ducks, then try out all the tractors.  He loved this set and it was only $200.  Yikes!

He took it for a spin around the store, but we left it there.

He greeted a lawn ornament or two..

...before heading outside to try out some more tractors.

Last morning to catch the bus to school

Wednesday was Smudge's last day at school, and we drove her there because she had so much stuff to carry, so Tuesday was her last morning to catch the bus. 

Buppa and JJ did puzzles at the kitchen table before heading to the bus stop...

...and Smudge relaxed on her bed and played on her DS

Then it was time to head out the door.

JJ waits patiently on the sidewalk when it is time for sister to board the bus

She takes her seat and gives Buppa a smile and wave as the bus pulls away.

And so ends her first year at school.  My goodness that went fast.

The Dancer

The girl is a dancing queen these days. As soon as we walk in the house in the mornings we hear music, and she is kicking up her heels in grand style.

Of course all that dancing makes a girl thirsty, so she has to stop for a drink and a snuggle with Amma  before heading out the door to catch the school bus. 

Ah, what sweet memories we are making!

Seems that two little munchkins passed their first swimming course

...but this one is nice too.

Hmmm....which one will I buy?  Perhaps I could have both of them Amma.  What do you think?

Garden Helpers

I don't know who was helping whom in the garden, but everyone had fun.

Preparing the pots for some flower seeds.

First Smudge puts some seeds into the pot...

Then it's JJ's turn

The kids have both been in swimming classes this spring, and we finally went to see them splish and splash on Sunday afternoon

JJ is still not sure if he likes the water or not.

The teacher holds on tight while JJ gets a dunking, and he is holding onto her for dear life too.

Sister on the other hand is two years older, and she is thrilled about being in the water.

She had a dunking, and came up smiling, and ready to do it again.

JJ gets to wear a life jacket, but he is still not relaxed in the water.

He is giving it a valiant effort though.

Smudge grabs the flutter board and goes to town

JJ tries a front float...

...and puts his face in the water...

...but is more than pleased when it is over...

and he is able to sit safely on the edge of the pool again.

Sister kicks up a storm going back and forth..

and forth and back in her lane. 

JJ's class is then taken to the deep end of the pool and instructed to jump off the diving board into the waiting arms of a teacher. JJ was having none of that..

But agreed to step off the side...

into the arms of the teacher.
