Flower Girl's bouquet

Here is the last of the wedding photos...a close-up of Danica's bouquet.  Beautiful huh?  A treasure she will keep forever.

On another unrelated note, I have torn a tendon in my right hand and that makes for rather difficult keyboarding, so on doctor's orders I will give the hand a complete rest for a week or so and will hopefully be back to my blog in a week or so.  See you again after Thanksgiving!

Post wedding

OK, that's it...or almost...for wedding pictures. I do want to post a picture of Danica's bouquet, but it has been missing-in-action for the past few days so I don't have it on the  camera yet.  I hope to post it tomorrow, then I am done with the wedding pics.

This was taken one morning last week while waiting for the bus to arrive.  These guys sure do make mornings lively.

Sensitive Soul...and a moment to remember.

A sombre moment, of remembering loved ones not on this earth anymore, was called for amidst all the fun on Sarah's wedding day.  When we got to our assigned table and waited for the program to begin, we noticed this wedding favor at each place.
Danica asked about the names on the leaf attached to this little nest, and we tried to explain to her who the people were, and why they weren't at the wedding,
She was very sad that they weren't here.  She especially missed her cousin Elisabeth
She was more than a little upset and it took her a long time to enter into the joy of the day again.   We explained as best we could that we should honour their memory, and enjoy the day for them.   She lead the whole table in a time of remembrance and thinking of loved ones passed away.  What a special moment for all of us.  Thank you Danica.
I have put a few links here for those of you who would like to know more about Maria, Seana and Elisabeth.

Mike's mom, passed away after a long battle with cancer in June 2012
Sarah's cousin, passed away after a long battle with cancer in May 2012
Sarah's little sister, passed away suddenly from a rogue virus that attacked her heart in March 1993. She was only 5 years old.
This was long before we had digital cameras and lots of pictures to choose from, or blog posts to link to, so I have posted a picture below of Sarah and Ben with Elisabeth, from the early 90's.
We remembered you and missed you dear hearts.

Almost a week after we got home from the wedding, Danica was busy at the kitchen table working on this card.  When asked what it was, she informed her mom that it was a card she wanted to send to heaven for Maria, Seana and Elisabeth.

What a tender heart this little one has.

Miscellaneous shots from the wedding

In no particular order, here are more random shots of the wedding festivities.
Getting down with my niece Andrea and her daughter Francis
Shauna with baby Gemma.  Amazingly, Gemma kept that headband on for the whole day.
The cutest Flower Girl ever, posing with Amma
The A-Team looking forward to the festivities.
Sarah and Mike giving their speeches...and look what Jinu is doing the whole time!  The rascal.
Danica enjoying a chuckle...
...and clapping enthusiastically for the speeches.
Loving her cousin Francis.
Danica, Francis and JJ enjoying a rest after dancing up a storm.
One of the table centerpieces my sister made.  The picture doesn't do it justice at all.  The beaded droplets sparkled and shone in the candlelight and gave the room a magical feeling.  There were twelve table centerpieces like this, and six or eight bigger trees placed around the room.  My sister is an amazingly creative and talented person.
Just a crowd shot to try to get the effect of the trees
Sisters enjoying a hug after dinner
A quiet moment before the dancing begins.
