AC was reading the local paper the other night and saw an article for a candlelight Labyrinth walk. We thought it sounded interesting so we packed the lawn chairs into the car, picked up a coffee, and set off for the Labyrinth. The article said it was to start at 7:30pm so we expected a bit of a program before the actual walk as it wouldn't be dark until almost 10pm.
We set up our lawn chairs around the campfire and waited for the event to begin. We read the posters informing us of the benefits of a labyrinth walk...
and we waited for the Sisters of the Drum to perform and start the ceremony.
We soon discovered that there would be no ceremony. We stood around waiting for the program to begin, but there wasn't a program to speak of.
The drummers drummed, I walked the Labyrinth, and that was it!
It was all a bit of a mystery to me. After our short walk around the Labyrinth, we got back in the car and headed for our favorite park to walk the path along the water. Ahhh, now that's an anti-stress walk.
Pour yourself a fresh hot cup of tea, that delicious brew from the old Brown Betty teapot, and join me for a relaxing chat.

Day off
The phone rang early yesterday morning to inform us that we had the day off. Smudge had been up in the night throwing up and nobody in the house got much sleep. I think everybody just wanted to stay in bed and pull the covers up over their heads, so Mommy took the day off to tend to her sick munchkin and Buppa and I got the day off.
Hopefully later that day Smudge was feeling her old self again.
I'll keep you posted after we report for duty today and see how she is.

Good ol' Play-doh
Kids just love it don't they? Smudge has a grand time playing with it, but Jboy still puts everything in his mouth, so he has to stand on the sidelines and just watch for now.
Off he goes to get his little hands on something else, and Smudge continues to create marvelous things.
This creating is serious business.
"Don't bother a genius at work Amma!"

Time with Amma
Smudge and I were sitting in the living room the other day singing Five Little Ducks Went out to Play, when Jboy climbed up onto the chair and got right in between us.
We made room for him too, but then it was a battle to see who cold get closest to Amma. What a hoot!
Amma was worn out from the battle...
and soon needed to be tucked in for a nap.
Ah, sweet memories are being made!

School Pictures
It was school picture day for Smudge on Friday, so she let Amma put barrettes in her hair. Seeing as they usually only stay put for two seconds before they are ripped out, I thought it would be a good idea to take a picture of the momentous event before she headed out the door for school.
Jboy smiled for the camera too.
They kept running toward the camera to see the pictures even before we could take them, so we sat them down on a couple of chairs to see if we could get them to stay in on spot in order for us to take picture.
We got a couple....
of cute shots...
...then their feet were on the floor and they were off and running again.

Morning Greeting
When we arrive at the kid's house in the morning we come in the side door near the basement steps. There is a gate at the top of the steps near the door and both kids are usually there, eager to greet us with smiles, hugs and hellos. On this particular morning another BIG kid joined in the fun and wanted hugs and kisses too.
What a sunny way to start the day.
After our initial greeting we get busy to face the rest of the day. The BIG kid goes off to work and the little muchkins keep Amma and Buppa on their toes ALL day.
One morning we thought the little ankle-biters were being particularly quiet in their room so we went to see what they were up to. We found both of them on TOP of the change table looking out the window. We have no idea how Jboy got up there. Sheesh, what next?
Another day I walked into the bedroom and found this mysterious lump at the end of the bed. What could it be...
...kids sailing down the river of imagination going on a fantastic journey in their little plastic boats.
On another morning it's time for a snuggle in the big bed...
then up and att'em for the rest of the day. You can't keep Jboy down for long!

Music Together
Smudge and her Daddy go to a music class every Saturday morning, and seeing as this was the last class for this session Buppa and I thought we would surprise Smudge and attend the class too. Smudge thought that it was pretty neat and helped Buppa find the right rhythm for this song.
Here she is during the "peek-a-boo" song...
dancing a jig to another song...
and being a horsey in another song.
This was her favorite activity of the morning though - lounging on Buppa.
We had a fun time, but sitting on that hard floor for an hour was pretty uncomfortable. Next time I'll bring a cushion!
It was nice to get out into the fresh air after class and walk along the water's edge.
Smudge led Buppa on a merry chase across the lawns...
and gardens...
then she took Amma's hand and quietly posed for a picture...
or two...
then we all walked along the boardwalk back to the car.
