Tiger Lilly

It was finally warm enough for Smudge to wear this cute little outfit the A Team bought for her last year.
She looked very cute in it, but decided that something was missing to make the outfit complete.
Yep, it looks much better with a pair of boots.
The girl really does know how to make a fashion statement.

Early 40th Celebrations

Because we are going away for the weekend, the kids had us over for an early 40th Anniversary celebration dinner last night. After dinner the A-Team Skyped in from Vancouver to join the party, and surprised us royally with return tickets to Vancouver for a 10 day holiday with them next fall. The CP gang gave us a weekend wine-tasting tour in the Okanaga Valley while we are out there, and...
started us off with this basket to take on our adventure this weekend.
Thanks guys, we sure feel loved!

Garden Helper

After many days of rain, the sun finally made and appearance and it was time to do some gardening. Smudge came for a visit and was a big helper in the garden.



The only problem being - as fast as I put the weeds in the bucket, she took them out again.

MD Fun - Cont'd

Opening gifts is always fun. Seeing as this one was too big to wrap, I got a picture of it wrapped around a pair of yoga pants.
Smudge had fun helping with the paper.
CB doesn't seem interested at all.
Smudge tried out the new trailer for the bikes and seemed to like it. I don't think we will tackle any hills pulling this contraption, but Smudge should enjoy treks around the neighbour and maybe along the Trans Canada Trail.
These bright and beautiful flowers arrived at my door from the A Team just as they were Skyping in from Vancouver to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. Pretty huh?
One final sweet treat for the day. Home-made fudge. Thanks Marielle! It is delicious.

More Mother's Day Fun

After our back roads tour, AC and I headed over to the kids place for a BBQ dinner. Smudge thought it was great fun to have Nanna,
Amma...
and Mommy there to celebrate the day in style.
I think CB was enjoying the festivities too.

Mother's Day Adventure

AC and I like to find back roads that we haven't ventured down before and go exploring. So on MD we did just that. We stopped at Tim's for a cafe mocha first, then hit the road.
The sun was hiding this day, but the ride was "sunny" nonetheless and we enjoyed a our tour and...
...even discovered some photo ops along the way.

The Muffin Thief

Buppa was trying to enjoy an afternoon snack out on the front porch the other day,
but he encountered the notorious Muffin Thief,
and ended up,
sharing the muffin with her.
I don't think he minded one bit though.

Longing

Smudge is looking longingly at the back yard and wants to get down there to play, but Daddy has a lot of clean-up to do in the yard before it is safe for the munchkin. The fence is finished, but post holes have to be filled in, and work areas cleaned up. Soon Smudge, soon!
She went and asked Buppa to help her open the gate, but he had to say no.
Smudge then came over to ask CB or Amma to help her get down to the yard, but they had to say no too.
CB doesn't understand what all the fuss is about. He thinks it is just fine up here on the deck.

Open Up the Summer Kitchen Ceilidh

AC and I attended this Ceilidh on Sunday afternoon and it was a hand clappin', toe tappin' , fantabulous time.

Movin' and Groovin'

Smudge is on the move in her new purple shoes, and looking very cute too I might add.
CB is content to have a snuggle with Buppa while sister runs circles around them both.

After Dinner Walk

When Smudge comes for a sleep-over we like to go for an after dinner walk to get some fresh air and exercise before bedtime. Smudge thinks this is grand. She happily gets her coat and hat on and eagerly waits while Buppa puts his shoes on.
When we walk down by the water we confine Smudge to her stroller, but as you can see here, she would rather get out and walk. We stopped long enough for this picture, but mostly we keep up a fair clip on our walk and she seems quite happy in her stroller.
She bounces her feet, waves her hands, sings, talks, twists and wiggles for the whole walk. Even though her feet aren't touching the ground, they never stop moving for the whole walk.

Peeramid

AC posted a blog about the handy-dandy new glasses he got to help him read out on the porch - here. I also have to take a minute to share with you the handy-dandy new invention I got to aid with my reading. It's the Peeramid Bookrest - This uniquely shaped pillow with bookmark, props a book at the perfect angle for reading - in a bed, at a table, favorite chair, or on the floor. Placing the spine of the book into the ledge allows readers a free hand to take notes, snack, or just plain relax.

Pretty neat huh? I think it's great!

Just Because

We had Smudge for a sleep-over last night, and a busy day followed. So busy in fact, we haven't had time to upload recent pics. So for you fans awaiting new pics every day, these are for you. Just because they are cute.

Fresh Air Frolicking

When the sun is shining Smudge is outside, ready to face the world with enthusiasm. Looking ever so cute too.

One of her favorite things is the slide in Evan's back yard.
After climbing up and down the stairs on the slide a kazillion times, it is time for a nap on the trampoline. Notice how Smudge has her own unique way of doing things.
Now they are all rested, Smudge and Evan head for the Playdough corner.
Another cooler day on her own deck Smudge soaks up the sunshine and enjoys letting the wind give her a new hairdo.
She loves playing in her doll house, but even more than that, she likes to move things from one place to another, and then back to the original spot again. She picks up chairs, tables, blocks, and whatever else she can get her hands on, and carries them back and forth. If you are on on the deck with her, she ta-ta's them to you, and so the game goes on over and over and over again.
Here you see AC trying to read a book while keeping Smudge company on the deck. She has just given him a table, and it would no do to put the table beside him on the deck, he had to hold it. So hold it he did, and she went off to find something else to bring to him.
My goodness, she does make us smile.
