Young Whippersnappers

AC and I celebrated our 38th Wedding Anniversary yesterday and Smudge celebrated her four weekiversary. AC posted a picture of us taken with Smudge here, and filled you in on the details of our day yesterday, but I thought it would be fun to post a couple of old pictures of us when we were just young whippersnappers on our wedding day.

Thirty Eight Years Ago

Thirty Eight Years Ago

Makes me smile just to look at them again. Hope they make you smile too.

Enjoy your day and walk in the sunshine every chance you get.

Having just come from AC's post it's nice to see where the journey started. Happy Anniversary wishes to you both.

I, too, just came from AC's post. You're both just as beautiful today as 38 years ago. The little bouquet you are holding in today's anniversary picture is the prettiest ever.

I also stopped by AC's post. And now yours. It is such fun to see the "before" look and the "after". You have both held up well! Oh, sure you may have changed a bigt (just a bit) but you still look happy.

chrisb - Thank you.

Cathy- What changes the years bring, but each passing day graces our lives with unique and deeper beauty, and it shows in the lines and crinkles on our faces. Oh so different, but still beautiful.

I can honestly say this is the best anniversary yet, and I agree that the bouquet is the prettiest ever.

Gina - Thank you. Always nice to hear from an old friend.

kgmom- Happy we are without a doubt, but we hardly recognize those kids we were on our wedding day. Oh how we have changed over the years. The most noticeable one to me in old pictures is my dark brown hair.

When Bug, our youngest daughter gave away almost everything she had, took what she could carry on her back and set off to backpack in Europe and Australia for a year - all by herself - I made an emergency phone call to my hairdresser and asked her to order some blond hair dye, and to order it in bulk. I was going to need emergency treatment during that year. Yep, that's when I became a blond! Blond covers the gray much easier than dark brown does!

Amazingly Bug and I both survived that year, and I discovered I loved being a blond. Who knew? Our kids bring many wonderful discoveries to our lives as we learn and grow with them. So I say enthusiastically, on with the life lessons a grand child will bring.
