Winter Walk

We didn't get the fresh snow we were promised the other day, but Mother Nature did lower the temperature so what we already have on the ground is sticking around. Oh joy! We set off for a walk this week, and it was so cold the snow squeaked under foot with each step – neat huh? Don't you just love that sound?

Hands and face can't take exposure for very long in this weather, but I tuck my camera in my mitt so it is easy to whip it out quickly and snap a picture or two along the way to share with you.

Enjoy...

Boardwalk

It was an invigorating and wonderful winter walk but my face was sure stinging by the time we got home from our trek. Oh well, I soon warmed up and then enjoyed the added benefit of having a nice rosy glow on nose and cheeks for the rest of the afternoon. Mother Nature is a great make-up artist.

Wow.. that is just such a beautiful place! Here in California, we are not having a winter. It's been same, same, same for weeks. It's a relief to be able to look at these pictures and remember there really *are* seasons. LOL

Peace,

I love the photos.

Your weather seems fairly similar to ours right now, although it did warm up past the squeaking snow stage yesterday.

Finally - A little 'Jack Frost nipping at your nose' before the strengthening sun escorts Spring into those beautiful environs.

Your wonderful wintry pictures remind me that I've become, soft, wimpy and pasty looking !!! It's been years since I've felt that stinging cold that wakes you up like no other...

Dave - yes it is a winter wonderland.

TG - I don't know what I would do if I didn't live in a place where the seasons changed. I love the arrival of each one, but winter is my favorite.

Laurie - our snow is still squeaking and I am lovin' it.

Cathy - we are enjoying our walks with Jack Frost each day but he is doing more than nipping! Ouch! He has quite a bite these days.

Spring is a welcome gift after a cold winter and we will welcome it with open arms. How amazing to see green shoots pointing up through the cold icy ground in early spring. How does Mother Nature do that? It never ceases to amaze me.

Ginnie - yes it sure does wake you up and make you feel alive. Some days I feel like taking a nap instead of a walk, but once out in the cold and snow I feel wide awake and full of energy.
