Smudge's Mommy was really thinking ahead when she packed some tuna casserole for Smudge to have for dinner. She even packed enough for Jinu to share in the delicious treat if he wanted to. Smudge and Jinu don't look too enthusiastic about chowing down in this picture, but Auntie Laura and Auntie Sarah convinced them to try the first bite...
and the casserole was a hit with both kids. Yahoo!
After dinner they played in the living room under the watchful eye of Auntie Sarah and Auntie Mary...
...while dinner was set out in the dinning room for the adults. Yum! Eight of us gathered around the old kitchen table for BBQ'd chicken or salmon, salads, veggies and a brew or two! How wonderful to have all the kids home safe from their travels and be together for a meal at Riverwood. I am really looking forward to the A Team joining in the festivities with us at the end of the month.
At bedtime Grandpa Brian helped Jinu check out Jboy's playpen.
I think Jinu thought it was a pretty neat bed...
...and looked happy to borrow Jboy's travelling sleeping quarters for the night. Doesn't look ready to settle down though does he.
Actually, both kids had trouble settling that night, but eventually the old farmhouse was quiet and we all had a good rest. So much so that Jinu was still sleeping soundly when Smudge was up and ready to face the day at 6am the next morning. Yawn! She tip-toed around so as not to wake Jinu though, and then Buppa took her outside for an early morning walk. When they came back from their walk Jinu was still sleeping, so she played quietly in the old rocking chair until the rest of the house woke up. What a good kid.
She ventured upstairs when everyone was awake, and found the Princess Room. What a neat room with its slanted ceilings, low windows, canopy bed, old toys and delightful dressing table. Amma had this dressing table in her bedroom when she was a little girl, and it now sits in a corner in the Princess Room at Riverwood. Smudge found the silver brush and comb waiting for her on the table, and spent quite a while in front of the mirror fixing her hair.
Looks like she is quite pleased with the job she did, and really liked the three-way view she got of her new coiffure.
I hope she finds Riverwood as magical as I do, and makes lots of happy memories there. Her first visit was a fine one, and we plan many more in the future.

Blogging is more profitable than doing laundry in a way. Isn't it?
