Friday night we joined about 4,998 other people at the Light Up the Night Celebrations in Almonte, and it was a fabulous, fabulous, fabulous night.
We stood in the crowd of 5000, in the -7 cold night air for two hours, but we were warmed and thrilled right down to our toes.
Here is a short video of the stage at the end of the evening with all the participants joining in for the singing of Christmas in the Valley.
The whole evening was entertaining, but the highlight is always the Fireworks display at the very end. Here is a still picture of this year's show, but AC has a video of last year's show that will give you chills. If you haven't looked at it already, you must go do that RIGHT NOW! You will be glad you did.

I could have commented on AC's--but since he sent us here, I will comment to you.
What an interesting tradition for Lighting up the Night--fireworks, the music from the Messiah, Christmas lights.
Nothing like that here--though we do have fireworks for New Year's.
What a lovely tradition. Is that Wayne Rostad from On the Road Again singing on stage?
kmr
KMR - Yes, it is Wayne, he has hosted the event for the past 15 years. His wife Leanne Cusack, co-hosts with him, and they make a great team on the stage.
Cuppa,
I came over from ACs blog and am so glad I did. Then I went to watch the video of last year's fireworks and it was wonderful. He did a great job with it.
Enjoyed your video. I would love to attend this one year. We have nothing like that here. Enjoyed my visit.
Blessings,
Mary
Mary - The video is great isn't it? Every time I watch it I get chills, and it is just a video taken on our small camera. Can you imagine how spectacular and thrilling the actual show was?
