The Smudge is getting her French lesson for the day and seems to be enjoying it thoroughly. She has a French book in one hand, and French A,B,C's playing on her drum. This little charmer will certainly be bilingual.
Daddy speaks French to her all the time, and Grandpa and Mommy do a good job too, but Grandma is a rookie with this second language and has to stick to English most of the time. Maybe I'll pick up some words and phrases from The Smudge's toys too, and we will learn together.
Children and grandchildren can teach us many things, and I am excited to be in this classroom of life right now. My thinking-cap is on and my notebook is ready. Let the lessons begin.
