Another chapter ends....and that means another exciting one begins.

Yes, we have come to the end of this busy/exciting; tiring/energizing; demanding/rewarding; challenging/mind boggling chapter in our lives.  Some days I didn't think I would make it until dinner time, and on those days AC would send me home early, or take the kids to the park to help them get rid of the end of the day energy, and I would pause and re-group in quiet, glorious, refreshing solitude.

As hard as it was to make it through some days, the pros far out-numbered the cons in this adventure, and I am glad that we had this very special time with the kids.
From snuggles in the rocking chair with my favorite girl...
...to picnics in the park with my favorite boy.  (Well, AC was there too, so I should say favorite boys!)
We are now on holiday until after Thanksgiving.  Yahoo!  We were all set to head off to visit my brother and s-i-l for a few days, but Danica brought a cold home from school on Friday, and the damnable germ latched onto me.  Groan.  So I am down for the count for a few days, and have to postpone our visit for a week or two.

We won't have the kids everyday, so the pictures will be few and far between from now on, but I will post some left-over pictures from the summer this week.  You can rest assured that the camera will always be close at hand, and when I have pics I'll send them your way.

My heart has filled up and I just do not know what to say.

Regenia - I know. It is such a bittersweet time for me. I need a break, but I will miss the kids being here every day. I must enter this chapter with joy though, and keep moving forward.
What a rich treasure trove of memories we have stored up to brighten any heart-heavy day we might have in the future. This reminds me of a quote I once read about God giving us our memories that we might have roses in December.
What a sweet fragrance those "December Roses" have.

Such a beautiful quote. I collect them so thank you. As I understand it, you will no longer blog. But I will occasionally check, just in case. I wish you far less tiring but equally joy filled days.

Regenia - Oh, you collect quotes? I do too. Isn't it neat how we can find kindred spirits here in blogdom.

I will certainly still be blogging, but won't have new pictures for Grandmama every day now. My blog will take on a different tone and go back to the way it used to be before babysitting days.

I have lots of pictures in my summer file to post for Grandmama this week and next, then things will slow down. But do please keep dropping by for tea and a visit.

We keep turning the pages. It's the way of life. I'm glad we struggled thru the last chapter with those two treasures.

AC - Me too!

What comes after Thanksgiving?

Hope you're feeling better soon, Sue!

Mary - thanks. I am starting to feel better....just in time to take care of John, as the nasty cold germ just knocked him off his feet. Sheesh, what a pair we are. This is no way to start our holiday!

We are hoping to visit RW for a week soon. Maybe at the end of September. We hope it won't be too cold, so we can pitch our tent and not freeze at night. We thought we might stay longer, but with no working oven, and no washer dryer, I think a week will be the limit. We'll see.

After Thanksgiving we are going to be staying pretty close to home for the winter months so we agreed to do before and after school care for two or three days a week. If we do want a winter week at the farm though, we have a neighbour who will take up the task while we are away.

Hopefully this will be the best of both worlds. Still having close contact with the kids, but also having the freedom to get away if we want to.
