Sunday afternoon visit

Montreal company stopped by for a visit on Sunday afternoon so CB and Smudge got lots of extra attention from Nana and friends. CB kept Nana busy....
while Smudge had a snuggle with Lisette.
Soon it was double duty for Nana though. I don't think she minded at all.
Smudge then had to explore our bikes and thought it was quite grand to sit on Buppa's bike.

Fun at the Water Park - part 2

Smudge got right into the action and had a blast.
While Smudge played in the water CB sat in his car seat and enjoyed looking at the leaves flutter in the tree just above his head.
Here is Big Sister standing under the green bucket trying to catch the drips from it. Every so often the coloured buckets would fill with water and dump its contents on the person standing below. You never knew when they would tip. Smudge never did get dumped on, but a few times she was standing very close to the waterfall, and she would squeal with delight and say "Oh My!!!!" She sure made us laugh.
These water guns were placed around the bucket area and Smudge liked trying to catch the water squirting out of them.
I sat in the shade with CB most of the time while Mommy and Buppa trailed around after Smudge to make sure she didn't get into trouble.
Smudge thought getting her face right in the spray from the red gun was lots of fun,
and standing under the spray from the yellow gun was a challenge.
CB was too young to get into the water but I think he had fun at the park too. Sure looks like it anyway.

Fun at the Water Park - part 1

We are getting some pretty steamy weather here, so we thought it was a perfect time to take Smudge to the water park. She loved it! Her little feet hit the ground running as soon as she got out of the car, and she didn't know what to do first. The river beckoned to her, the swings and slides looked good too, but the splash pads won out in the end, so she visited them first.
One area has buckets on huge poles and they drip water down on the kids from above. Another area
has fountain strips in the ground and they shoot water up at the kids from below.
After a few minutes splashing about in both of these area, Smudge headed for the river and Buppa was close behind her to keep her out of trouble.
She chased the seagulls, went down the slide a few times,
then it was back to the spash pads.
I think we will be spending a lot of time at this park this year, and it is only a ten minute walk from the house.

Stay tuned for more pics tomorrow.

Outdoor fun on the new swing set

Auntie Bug and Daddy spent many hours working on this play structure and...
Smudge loves it. She needs help on the swing, so Buppa and Daddy are called on a lot for a push.
She manages just fine on the teeter-totter swing with a little help from the neighbour's grandchildren.

Thanks Auntie Bug for helping Daddy when you were here.

Father's Day - 2

Breakfast in the park was followed by a pizza dinner at Thesha's to celebrate FD. Father and daughter enjoy a hug before dinner.
Theboy got a neat book and something to relax in while enjoying his new fenced-in back yard.
CB wonders if he can share a swing with Daddy in the hammock.
Time for father and daughter to check out the bubble machine.
Smudge loves to get her face right in the action so she can feel the bubbles popping against her face.
She had a very soapy head of hair once she was done.

Father's Day - 1

We were invited over to the kids house for a pizza supper to celebrate Father's Day on Sunday evening, but just AC and I started off the day in grand style by taking coffee and a breakfast sandwich to the park.
We sat by the water for awhile, then sauntered along the path just to soak in the beauty of the morning.
We happened upon this family of geese out for a Father's Day celebration too.
Hope you all got to shake a tail feather and enjoyed the weekend!

Whirlwind Week

We had a whirlwind week topped off by a busier than busy weekend. Father's Day pics are still on the camera so these two older pics are to tide you over till we tend to that. Enjoy them with your morning coffee and stay tuned for Father's Day pics and maybe a video or two from the Step-dance and Fiddle competition we attended on Friday and Saturday.

RW with the A-Team

As an unexpected bonus we got to spend another day with the A-Team at RW this week before they set off for home on Thursday We are a tad tired from the whirlwind trip to the country, but a fun time was had by all.

From hat fashion shows...
to delicious meals around the old kitchen table...
to our evening campfire, we made warm wonderful memories.
The mosquitoes and black flies made it a tad uncomfortable to be outside, but we braved the outdoors anyway and had a nice time around the campfire on the night we arrived,
Then after a good breakfast the next day...
...we enjoyed a pleasant afternoon in the Playner Mill

Thanks Tuckers, we so enjoyed our brief but wonderful stay.

Picnic at the Mill of Kintail - Part 4

CB settled right down in the sling pouch and slept during the whole walk in the woods.
Aunties Bug and Puff take time for a snuggle.
Smudge wanted to get under the bridge and get her feet in the water. Buppa didn't mind helping her do just that.
Althgal taking a moment for some quiet meditation.
Once we got back to the car it was time to change Smudge into dry clothes and then go for another walk with the Aunties...
before heading for home.

Picnic at the Mill of Kintail - Part 3

Amma thought she should give Buppa a rest, so I took the leash for a while and Smudge and I had fun running back and forth across the bridge.
Then we set off on the forest trail on the other side of the bridge.
Soon Buppa was in charge of the leash again and didn't mind it at all. Smudge had to make many stops along the path to check out the stones, bugs, leaves, twigs and anything else she could get her tiny hands on.
She really liked getting her feet in the water too. She was one wet and dirty munchkin by the time we got back to the car, but she was VERY happy.
Time for a rest at the end of the walking trail before heading home.
What sweet memories we made that day.
