Having Fun

While Smudge has a blast outside
CB enjoys a quiet moment inside.
I think they are both having fun.

Memories

It hardly seems possible, but over thirty years ago Thesha played with this castle, and now here, in the blink of an eye, her little girl is just a delighted as she was with it.
In spite of our many moves over the years, I managed to hang onto this wonderful toy, and am so glad I did. It served to entertain the many little guests we had in our home, and now grand babies can claim it as their own. What happy memories flood the room when this toy makes an appearance.

Composing

Chillbaby has such long fingers I think he might grow up to be a world famous pianist. In this pic it looks like he might be composing a piano concerto in his head, and is trying to get the fingering just right.

What could it be?

I walked into the nursery the other day and found this mysterious lump on the floor. Hmmmm, what could it be?
A munchkin hatching!

The first of its kind!

Morning head

These pics don't do it justice, but I had to try. This is the "do" Smudge woke up with the other morning.
A tad wild huh?
This is where she went when I got the brush to try to help her fix it.
Smart kid!

A little bit of glitz

New babies in the family sure do change things when you want to party, but we did our best. We didn't have a red carpet, but we did dig out our tiara's...
...added a little bit of glitz, sipped some wine and munched a goodie or two whilst watching the Oscars.
Both babies slept soundly through the festivities, so a good time was had by all.

Row, row, row your boat...

The baby bath was brought up from the basement to get it ready for CB's bath. Smudge saw it on the floor, climbed in and started singing Row, row, row your boat...
She is holding on here, so I think she just hit the rapids.
Your imagination can take you anywhere, anytime in anything! Magic!

Baby Faces

AC and I have been a bit under the weather this weekend so haven't seen the kids for a couple of days now. We didn't want to take the flu bug over to their house if that was what was hanging around here, so we stayed away from the babies. Heads and stomachs feel better now and we are overdue for a hug or two, so will head over later today for a top up of hugs and love.

It is the Oscars tonight, so I must plan my outfit, dust of my tiara and get ready for the big party as Thesha's tonight. AC and I will take our pj's and sleep over at the kid's place, so we can drink wine and celebrate merrily without a worry about the drive home in the middle of the night. What fun.

Here are a few pictures from last week to tide you over until we get more today.

Second Week Doctor's Visit

And Chillbaby continues to live up to his name. Grandpa stayed home with Smudge while Mommy and Grandma took CB for his doctor's visit. Not a peep came out of him during the whole visit. Not a peep!! Mommy undressed him, the doctor examined him, then...
the nurse took him over to the cold scale to be weighed - 9lbs 1oz - and he didn't make a peep. What a good boy.
After the doctor's visit we took him shopping and then stopped at our favorite spot for coffee. CB continued to chill out, and Mommy and Grandma had a nice relaxing visit.
Then it was back home so CB could stretch out and really chill after his busy afternoon.
He is the most amazing Baby Boy ever. Of course Smudge is the most amazing Baby Girl ever.

Goin' to Town

AC had an appointment in town on Tuesday, and seeing as this was Daddy's first day back at work we decided to take Smudge with us so Mommy only had one baby at home that day.

Smudge loves to go for a ride in the car with Grandma and Grandpa, so she was quite happy to be all strapped into her seat. These new seats sure don't give the kids any wiggle room.
While Grandpa was off doing his thing, Smudge played in a sunbeam in the waiting room, then ran off into the mall with Grandma trailing behind to keep an eye on her.
On the way out we had to spend a few minutes studying the escalators.
Then it was back in the car for a trip to the restaurant...
...and then a stop at the library. Smudge was very intrigued with the little kitchen unit you see behind her, and she spent quite a while setting the table, putting the dishes away, then setting the table again.
All that work in the kitchen sure makes a girl tired. She was soon asleep on the ride back home.
Isn't she the cutest little Elf ever?

Meeting Jinu

Smudge's and Chillbaby's cousin Jinu came for a visit on the weekend and we enjoyed getting to know this cute little guy.

He is just five weeks older than Chillbaby,
Cousin J Visits

so the Mommy's had lots of sharing to do while the Grandmas and Grandpas did some snuggling rocking and bouncing of the new babies.

Uncle Ben

The aunties, uncles and cousins came for a visit this weekend, and Smudge thought Uncle Ben was the greatest.

He played the guitar for her, and she danced a merry dance to his fine tune.

After this song, Uncle Ben corded and let Smudge do the strummin' on the guitar. She thought that was mighty fine indeed. Smudge then showed Uncle Ben how she could play her piano, and they played a tune on that together.
I think it was love at first sight. Smudge with her new best friend - Uncle Ben!

Too Quiet

Smudge was visiting the other day, and she was very quiet over in the corner. Isn't that nice I thought, she is playing so quietly. Oh oh, maybe she is too quiet, maybe I should go over to have a look. What in the world is she doing?
She had a box of toys beside her, but what was she doing? Lifting the heating grate out of the opening in the floor!!! Sheesh, what a kid!

Valentine's Treats

The sweetest treat I know!
Smudge thought her headband and pillow were great.
Sweet huh?
Chillbaby, just chilled out during the Valentine's celebrations, and could care less about his new sleeper.
I tired to get Smudge's picture with her new mirror from Grandma and Grandpa, but she was more interested in my camera than posing for a picture. Grandpa fooled her though, and snapped one with his camera.

Dreamin'

No words needed. ZZZZZZZZ!

Rascal in the Rain

Chillbaby had to go to the doctor for his one week check-up, so Grandma and Grandpa babysat Smudge for the afternoon. It was a mild but rainy day, and Smudge insisted on going outside. I decided that her snowsuit was fairly waterproof, and it wouldn't hurt her to go out in the light rain for a while if she wanted to. So we bundled her up, and out she went.

Well, she loved it out there, and as you can see from the video, she did NOT want to come inside even though her mitts were dripping wet and I thought the dampness might be starting to seep inside her snowsuit. The video is only a minute long, but we must have played this game for about ten minutes at least! What fun. Once I did get her inside, I discovered she was warm and dry on the inside of her snowsuit even though the outside seemed to be dripping wet. Next time I will leave her out there for all long as she likes.

Living up to his name!
We went over to the kids place to visit twice the other day, and this is what Chillbaby did during both visits.

Not Happy

This little guy does NOT like getting his diaper changed. AT ALL! As soon as you start to unwrap him he lets you know that he is not pleased!!! You gotta just love that face though.

Bright surprise on a dull day

Look what came to our door yesterday! Flowers for AC and Cuppa!!! Who would be sending us flowers? I thanked the lady who brought them to the door, took them up to the kitchen and tried to guess who they were from while I hunted around for a vase, unwrapped the flowers and only then opened the card.
They were from the A-Team! The card read -
"Thank you for being such fantastic parents."

How wonderful to get flowers out of the blue like this with such a heart-warming message. It wasn't a birthday, anniversary or any other special day yesterday, but these flowers sure made it special.

Thanks A-Team for being such fantastic kids!

Love and hugs M&D

Last one

OK, this is the last video of Smudge's music class. Once again you can see that she is the centre of attention. Enjoying herself immensely whilst doing her own thing.

Chillbaby seems to be cheering her on in this pic.
Day 6
Yeah Sis, do your own thing! I will join you and give Mom and Dad a run for their money soon.
